The City of Williams Parks and Recreation Department will hold it’s annual Jam Zone and barbecue 2-6 p.m. on July 22 at Cureton Park. Trophy games include three-on-three basketball for ages 8-11, 12-14 and 15-18 as well as adult horseshoes for men’s singles and mixed doubles. Games for fun include volleyball, flag football, water sponge toss and frisbee golf. From to 6-10 p.m. there will be a dance.
Chamber board meeting — Friday
The Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce will hold its July board meeting 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at Days Inn, located at 2488 West Route 66.
There will be committee reports given by Clean & Beautiful, the Ambassadors, Economic Development, the HOG (Harley Owners Group) event, Website and Tourism.
Items for discussion and approval include Executive Committee Members, the carnival contract, chamber board retreat and new members.

Ribbon cutting planned for Friday
Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber Ambassadors will hold a ribbon cutting 4:30 p.m. Friday at Peak Confections, the gourmet sweet shop which recently opened at 221 W. Railroad Ave.
Civitans will meet July 19
Williams Civitan Club will meet 7 a.m. July 19at Camp Civitan. New officers who will take over in September include Barbara Conides, president; Amy Jackson, president-elect; Bill Keenen, treasurer; and Amy Tozer, candy box chair and secretary. Summer paint-outs planned
Anyone interested in painting or drawing on location is welcome to attend Williams Area Art-on-location Paint-outs. Attendees may bring other interested artists including young people. There will be no cost and no formal instruction, just a chance to visit, paint or draw and share ideas with each other. Come or go as desired. No prior registration is necessary. Items to bring include sturdy shoes, folding chair, easel, drawing board, paper, paint/art supplies, umbrella, water, sunscreen, and a sack lunch.

Williams summer rodeo continues
Wild West Rodeo Company is staging a summer series at Williams Rodeo Grounds. Performance times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Admission is $10 for adults, but locals are only charged $5. Children 12 and under are free.

Saturday, Nature Walk — 1 p.m. at Dogtown Lake. Meet at the main parking lot.
• Forest Bingo — 2 p.m. Whitehorse Lake Campground (meet at F loop by the dam parking lot)
• Fire on the Mountain — 7 p.m. Whitehorse Lake Campground (meet at F loop by the dam parking lot).
• Vampire bats in Arizona — 8 p.m. Kaibab Lake Campground amphitheater.
• Rapturous Raptors — 8 p.m. Dogtown Lake Campground amphitheater.
