Race tightens in LL Majors with few weeks left

The Seligman Indians’ dreams of an unbeaten season came to an end late Thursday night. The Ash Fork Devil Rays downed the Indians, 20-15, in a game featuring just about everything.

Earlier in the evening, Seligman escaped with a 7-6 win in extra innings over the Parks Pirates. The Indians played a rare doubleheader.

Ash Fork did well at the plate, got outs when needed and played sound defense in the win over the Indians. Michael Murphy was on the mound and the youngster went the distance.

With the loss, the Indians now hold just a one-game lead over the Grand Canyon Cardinals in the standings. The Cardinals have played nine games while the Indians have played seven.
