U.S. Park Rangers at Grand Canyon National Park logged the following reports for the period of June 8-15:

Thursday, June 8

• A medical aid call was taken at Hance Rapids of a 63-year-old man who had been thrown around going through the rapids and received facial abrasions, lost the feeling in his arms and had lower back pain. The patient was flown to the rim and then transported by Guardian Medical Transport to Flagstaff Medical Center.

Friday, June 9

• An emergency call was taken at the Delaware North General Store of a 22-year-old woman who had a grand mal seizure. The patient was transported to Grand Canyon Clinic.

• An emergency medical call was taken at Phantom Ranch of a 42-year-old man with a possible fractured wrist. The patient was flown out and then transported to Grand Canyon Clinic.

• An emergency medical call was taken at Phantom Ranch of a 56-year-old woman suffering from dehydration. The patient was flown out and then transported to Grand Canyon Clinic.

• Matthew A. Hull, 23, Grand Canyon, was charged with driving with an open container of alcohol in a vehicle when he contacted by rangers while driving through the Maswik parking lot.

• Rene Tahe, 31, Tucson, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the park and transported to Coconino County Jail in Flagstaff.

Saturday, June 10

• Raymond Blackie, 38, Grand Canyon, charged with shoplifting after rangers contacted him at the Delaware North General Store.

• Ronald Hickman, 34, Las Vegas, Nev., was charged with exceeding the posted speed limit after rangers contacted him in a commercial tour bus on Center Road near the school crosswalk.

Sunday, June 11

• Rangers, National Park Service firefighters, Amfac firefighters, Guardian Medical Transport, the Tusayan Volunteer Fire Department and the Department of Public Safety responded to a motor-vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer and a motorhome on East Rim Drive. Two people were killed and four were injured in the accident. The injured were transported to Flagstaff Medical Center.

Monday, June 12

• An emergency medical call was taken at the Second Trailview overlook on West Rim Drive of a 50-year-old woman with a possible fractured wrist. The patient was transported to Grand Canyon Clinic.

• Rangers investigated a report of property damage to a vehicle at Rouzer Hall.

• An emergency medical call was taken at Desert View Point of a 68-year-old man with shortness of breath. The patient was transported to Grand Canyon Clinic.

• Rangers responded to a report of a boat caught on rocks near Crystal Rapids. Rangers evacuated all 17 occupants of the boat via shorthaul operation.

• Rangers responded to a request for assistance from Coconino County Sheriff’s Department regarding a vehicle pursuit northbound from Grand Canyon airport. The vehicle was stopped inside the park. The driver, a 16-year-old girl, was taken into custody along with a 17-year-old female passenger and Dinah C. Oviedo, 23, Tusayan.

• An emergency medical call was taken in front of Ranger Operations of a 34-year-old woman with severe abdominal pain. The patient was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center.

• An emergency medical call was taken at Phantom Ranch of two patients suffering from severe hyponatremia. Both patients were flown to the South Rim Helibase and then to Flagstaff Medical Center.

• Daniel Minniti, 37, Sacramento, Calif., was charged with camping in an undesignated area when rangers contacted him at Mather Point sleeping in his vehicle.

Tuesday, June 13

• An emergency medical call was taken at the Delaware North General Store of a 25-year-old man with nausea and leg cramps. The patient was transported to Grand Canyon Clinic.

• Jennifer Whiterock, 28, Tuba City, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor when rangers contacted her at Mather Point regarding using a 15-year-old girl to conduct illegal sales.

• Jay Johnson, 39, Grand Canyon, and Martina Scott, 34, Grand Canyon, were both charged with disorderly conduct/fighting when rangers contacted them at Rouzer Hall regarding a report of a fight.

Wednesday, June 14

• Joseph L. Ward Jr., 27, Grand Canyon, and Eric Slofer, 32, Grand Canyon, were both charged with disorderly conduct/fighting when rangers contacted them at Rouzer Hall regarding a report of a fight.

• Debbie Chief, 27, Cameron, was charged with unsafe operation of a vehicle when rangers contacted her regarding an unreported motor vehicle accident.

• Rangers and Amfac firefighters responded to a wildland fire burning just behind Powell Street. The fire was suppressed and two local 7-year-old juveniles were found to be the cause of the fire.

Thursday, June 15

• An emergency medical call was taken at Lookout Studio of a cardiac patient (no age listed). The patient was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center.

• Rangers responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident between two motorcycles on East Rim Drive. Three people were injured in the accident. One patient was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center and two patients were transported to Grand Canyon Clinic.

• An emergency medical call was taken at the Mohave Apartments of a 40-year-old unconscious woman. The patient was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center.

• An emergency medical call was taken at the Brown Building of an 18-year-old woman suffering from an asthma attack. The patient was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center.

• An emergency medical call was taken at Yavapai Lodge of a 30-year-old woman suffering from hyponatremia. The patient was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center.

• An emergency medical call was taken at Grand Canyon Clinic of a 16-year-old girl suffering from dehydration. The patient was transported to Flagstaff via Guardian ground transport.
