Rita May

Rita May, 81, died in Yuma Dec. 16, 2000 after a longterm illness. She was born July 2, in Boston. Mrs. May operated a truck stop and nursing home in Yuma. She resided in Williams the past three years and was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Williams. She thoroughly enjoyed the snow here in Williams and was a very outgoing person.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer. Survivors include two brothers, Jack Neville of Massachusetts and Pat Neville and several cousins in Massachusetts.

Services will be held 3 p.m. Dec. 23 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Burial will be at Desert Lawn Cemetery in Yuma.

Sarah Long Brown

Sarah Long Brown, 94, of Flagstaff died Dec. 6, 2000. She was born in Maryland July 25, 1906.

Mrs. Brown was a registered nurse and member of Cottonwood Southern Baptist Church. She was active in the Christian Teachings of Navajo Children and the Child Evangelism Fellowship of Cottonwood. She was a past Girl Scout leader. Mrs. Brown enjoyed arranging wild flowers, cooking Christmas dinners and various crafts.

Survivors include a stepson-in-law, Bill Sutton Sr. of Williams; a brother, Otis Long; three step-grandchildren; 21 step-great grandchildren and 11 step-great-great-grandchildren. Visitation and services were Dec. 11 at Wescott Funeral Home in Cottonwood.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cottonwood Evangelism Fellowship or Christian Teachings of Navajo Children.
