Obituaries: Gary Dean Watahomigie and Ladislao ‘Ray’ Juarez Reye

Gary Dean Watahomigie

Gary Dean Watahomigie, 36, of Supai, died Nov. 7, 2000 in Supai.

He was born Dec. 5, 1963 in Peach Springs to Josephine Watahomigie and Ned Putesoy.

Mr. Watahomigie did trail maintenance on the trail to the Havasupai Indian Village and dearly loved the Grand Canyon he called home.

Survivors include his four children, Shania, Sasha, Gunnar and Shadow; his mother, Josephine Paya; three brothers, Cecil, Claude and Joel; and his fiancée, Gloria Siyuja.

Funeral services were held Nov. 12 in Supai with interment following in the Putesoy family cemetery.

Stewart Chapel was entrusted with funeral arrangements.

Ladislao ‘Ray’ Juarez Reyes

Ladislao "Ray" Juarez Reyes, 82, of Phoenix died Nov. 8, 2000.

He was born March 9, 1918 in Mexico, the son of Ladislao and Fermina Reyes. Mr. Reyes worked for Santa Fe Railroad and resided in the Williams area from 1946-1965.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond and Frankie; four daughters, Herlinda, Gloria, Fermina and Emily; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law; and two sons-in-law.

Mr. Reyes funeral service was held Nov. at Greer-Wilson Funeral Home in Phoenix.
