TUSAYAN — Canyon Country Chinese Restaurant and A Taste of Thai closed for business at its location near We Cook Pizza in Tusayan.

Jack Butler, co-owner, said the restaurant was expected to be closed only for the slow season, planning to reopen this spring. The building's owner, Wayne Cook, chose to terminate the lease.

We Cook Pizza's Brian Ciesielski said that area will probably be used for overflow business from the pizza and pasta restaurant, however, he added no definite decision has been made.

In past years, the building has housed an ice-cream shop and sub sandwich business.

Butler, who thanks patrons for their business, ran the restaurant with his wife Saisaming Butler and a family friend, Gai Warin. It opened in May.

Butler said he may relocate the business to the old Subway building owned by AirStar Helicopters.
