During the period of Jan. 11-18, U.S. Park Rangers at Grand Canyon National Park responded to the following incidents:

Thursday, Jan. 11

• Rangers responded to a report of attempted burglary at a residence within the park. No signs of attempted burglary were found.

• Rangers received a request for assistance from the Coconino County Sheriff's Department for detention of two suspects in a burglary that had occurred in Tusayan.

• Rangers closed East Rim Drive due to at least 14 inches of snow on roadway.

Friday, Jan. 12

• David S. Jones, 39, Grand Canyon, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and blood-alcohol content above .10 after he was stopped on Rowe Well Road. Jones allegedly registered .175 for BAC at booking. Jones was released to a third party.

Saturday, Jan. 13

• An emergency medical call was taken at Market Plaza General Store of a 22-year-old California man who fainted. The patient refused treatment.

• An emergency medical call was taken at the Bright Angel Lodge of a 12-year-old boy who suffered a ground-level fall, reinjuring his right arm which he had initially injured while wrestling. The parents refused treatment.

• An emergency medical call was taken at Pinon Park of a 46-year-old man with a history of diabetes who was unresponsive. The patient was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center.

• Rangers took a report of a 12-year-old boy who was separated from his father for approximately one hour on the Rim Trail. The boy was located at the business center and returned to his father.

Sunday, Jan. 14

• Rangers responded to a motor-vehicle collision at South Entrance Station. A 58-year-old Flagstaff man backed in to another vehicle, causing minor damage.

• An emergency medical call was taken on West Rim Drive of a 58-year-old Missouri man who fell on the ice while riding his bicycle. The patient's head was bandaged and he refused further treatment or medical transport.

Monday, Jan. 15

• Arnold R. Hatathlie, 29, Flagstaff, was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant out of Flagstaff. Hatathlie was originally contacted by rangers after a complaint was received from a Maswik room occupant, who said he would not leave. A computer check revealed the warrant. Hatathlie was also cited for driving on a suspended license and open container of alcohol. He was transported to Coconino County Sheriff's Department.

Tuesday, Jan. 16

• An emergency medical call was taken at Bright Angel Lodge of a 31-year-old woman complaining of dizziness and lightheadedness. The patient was transported to Grand Canyon Walk-In Clinic.

• An emergency medical call was taken on the South Kaibab Trail of a 25-year-old man who suffered a ground-level fall, injuring his knee and unable to walk. Rangers walked the injured man up the trail from the area at the bottom of the chimney. The group was warned for hazardous condition.

• Rangers responded to a report of a fight at Victor Hall. Upon arrival, occupants of the room were contacted and the fight was unfounded.

Wednesday, Jan. 17

• Lyle John, 20, Winslow, was arrested on various charges after rangers responded to a report of a fight in progress in front of Victor Hall. Rangers arrived on scene to find John in front of the dorm under the influence of alcohol. John allegedly became combative against rangers and had to be forcefully taken into custody. An investigation revealed John had allegedly assaulted the dorm proctor and other Victor Hall residents. A search of the suspect also revealed a marijuana smoking pipe. John allegedly continued to be combative at booking and he was transported to the Coconino County Sheriff's Department jail.

Thursday, Jan. 18

• Rangers responded to a report of smoke coming out of a Mohave Apartment. Rangers determined that what was believed to be smoke was actually steam from a laundry dryer in a neighboring residence.
