Kathlean Perry Russell

Kathlean Perry Russell, 47, longtime resident, died in Williams April 8, 2001. She was born June 21, 1953 in Winnfield, La., the daughter of Mildred “Fernie Mae” Russell and Lorenzo Butler.

Ms. Russell was an active member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Winnfield and was active in her community. She worked as an assistant in convalescent homes while in Louisiana and as a cook at Bill Williams Senior Center in Williams. Ms. Russell enjoyed singing in the church choir, was a born homemaker and was an excellent seamstress.

She was preceded in death by two sons Omar Perry and Corey Russell.

Survivors include her mother, Mildred Reed and step-father, Huey Reed of Williams; a daughter, Kathy Johnson and her husband, Terrell, of Winnfield; a son, Quinovan Perry of Denver; four brothers, Lionel Sherman and his wife, Marie, of Winnfield, Michael Chatman of Williams, Lorenzo Butler Jr. of Detroit and Maurice Weston and his wife, Keetha, of Junction City, Ark.; five sisters, Shirley Long and her husband, Michael, of Williams, Sonya Opuiyo and her husband, John, of Green Bay, Wis., Stephanie Meyers of Sacramento, Calif., Lisa Wellington of Leavenworth, Kan., and Patricia Booker and her husband, Billy, of Winnfield; five grandchildren; 16 nieces and eight nephews.

Funeral services were held April 17, 2001 in Winnfield Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Maurice Weston officiating. Interment followed in Winnfield Cemetery.
