Harold Wayne Valerio

Harold Wayne Valerio, whose parents are from Williams, was born and died on Sept. 1, 2001. The infant was born at Flagstaff Medical Center at 4:15 p.m. and died at 6:05 p.m. to Beloma "Bel" Davidson and Reynaldo "Rey" Valerio.

The infant is survived by his grandparents, Reynaldo and Martina Valerio, from Grand Canyon, and Cassie and Michael Davidson, from Valle; aunts; uncles; and cousins.

A memorial benefit is set for noon-5 p.m. Saturday at the River Front Park, in Cottonwood. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Norvel Owens Mortuary in Flagstaff. In lieu of flowers, send donations to HCR 34 Box 2, Williams, AZ 86046.

John "Jack" Dowd

John "Jack" Dowd, 70, of Williams, died Aug. 2, 2001 at his home in Williams. He was born Dec. 16, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York.

Mr. Dowd served in the U.S. Army from 1948-1952. While serving in the army he was missing in action in Korea for 1951-52. He moved to Williams in 1955 and worked at Eddie's Tire Shop and Chuck Brookbank Mobil. He retired in 1996.

Mr. Dowd was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion Cordova Post No. 13. He enjoyed work, bowling and visiting with friends and family.

Mr. Dowd is survived by his wife, Jean, of Williams; two sons, Leroy Dowd, of Provo, Utah, and Thomas Dowd, of Philadelphia, Penn.; daughter, Susan Johnson, of Kingman; five grandchildren; one brother, Charles Dowd, of Bath, New York; and six stepchildren.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Mr. Dowd at 5 p.m. Sunday at the American Legion, 516 W. Grant Ave. Norvel Owens Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
