The Lady Phantoms beat Seligman, 15-7, 15-5.

"Beating a conference team should be an uplifting experience," GCHS coach Matt Yost said. "We learned a lot of things. I put an emphasis on what we've been practicing."

Grand Canyon opened the tournament Saturday morning with a loss to Tucson Green Fields, 15-7, 15-7. The team then fell to the host school, PCDS, by a 15-11, 15-4 score. Both matches were played with rally scoring.
