Ryan to hold office hours tomorrow

Coconino County District Three Supervisor Matt Ryan will hold office hours in Williams from 3:30-5 p.m. tomorrow. Ryan will be available at the Coconino Community College, 636 S. Girl Scouts accepting

cookie orders

Two Williams Girl Scout troops are selling cookies now until Jan. 26. Girls from Junior and Cadet Troop #1747 and Brownie Troop #2616 are taking orders for cookies that will be delivered after Feb. 20.

Girl Scout cookies are $3 per box. Proceeds from the sale benefit both local troops and are used to fund various activities enjoyed by the girls.

Stamp your art out Saturday

A “Stamp Your Art Out” Festival will be held Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Community United Methodist Church, Second and Sherman.

For a small fee, local stampers will be on hand to perform demonstrations showing new ways to stamp. In addition to learning new techniques, participants will leave with four make and take projects.

Vet clinic in Williams Jan. 28

Plateauland Mobile Veterinary Clinic will be in Williams from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 28. The clinic will be held at the city parking lot.

WAC’Y Dolphins Swim-a-thon set for Feb. 1

The Williams Aquatic Center Youth will participate in a swim-a-thon from 10 a.m.-noon Feb. 1. The event will be hosted at the Williams Aquatic Center.

The WAC’Y Dolphins Swim Team is hosting the event to raise money for swim team suits. You can support the Dolphins by pledging a swim team member or lifeguard. Swimmers will swim as many laps as possible during the two-hour period without stopping. Pledges will be per lap.

If you would like to assist, individuals are needed to count swimmers’ laps. For more information or to donate your time, contact the Williams Aquatic Center at 635-3005.

Diabetes planning meeting set for Feb. 8

The Williams Diabetes Support Group’s planning committee will hold a meeting Feb. 8. The meeting begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Williams City Council Chambers.

Relay for Life first meeting Jan. 29

The Williams Relay for Life will hold its first meeting of the year at 7 p.m. Jan. 29 at Rosa’s Cantina.

Stockmen’s Bank reports record earnings

The Stockmen’s Bank recently announced record net income of $7.23 million for the year ending Dec. 31, 2002, an increase of more than 29 percent from $5.59 million in 2001.

Total assets at Dec. 31, 2002 rose to $639 million from $562 million at the end of 2001. Total loans increased to $343 million from $272 million at Dec. 31, 2001. Total deposits were $587 million at Dec. 31, 2002, up from $514 million at the same time last year.

“It has truly been a banner year for us,” said Farrel Holyoak, president and CEO of the Stockmen’s Bank. “While the economy continues to struggle, the Stockmen’s Bank has experienced tremendous growth in all areas of our business and generated a record $7.23 million in net income by staying true to our hometown roots and personalized service ideals.”
