During the period of Oct. 28-Nov. 5, U.S. Park Rangers at Grand Canyon National Park responded to the following incidents:

Thursday, Oct. 28

• Two trees fell on cars. Also, six cars, two tow trucks and a bus slid off the road and a truck vs auto accident was reported.

• Winter weather created hazardous driving conditions, bringing trees down on roads, trails and homes and also downing power and phone lines.

• Rangers treated an intoxicated 43-year-old woman.

• Rangers assisted the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office with an arrest at the Grand Hotel in Tusayan.

Friday, Oct. 29

• An auto vs stationary object encounter was reported.

• Rangers warned drivers for speeding, unsafe operation, illegal parking, entering a closed area, vehicle regisration violations and a stop sign violation.

• Michael J. Bedoya was cited for uisng a fake ID.

• Rangers treated a 61-year-old woman for nausea and an 86-year-old woman with a cardiac condition.

• A visitor was cited for failing to pay the park entrance fee.

• North Rim rangers assisted the county in locating an overdue hiker.

• The contents of a wallet were lost on a trail in the Canyon.

Saturday, Oct. 30

• Two vehicle accidents were reported: a hit and run vs an auto, and a mail truck vs a van.

• A lost credit card was returned to its owner.

• Jorge Cruz and Roberto Flores were cited for violation of the terms of their commercial permit.

• Horse patrol traveled Rowe Well Road with Buster. There was no unusual activity and dirt roads were still snow-covered.

• A 35-year-old woman received first aid at Phantom Ranch.

Sunday, Oct. 31

• Rangers treated a 20-year-old woman with chest pain and a 35-year-old woman with an ankle injury.

• Jason Fleming was arrested for DUI and cited for DUI, breath alcohol content over .08, unsafe operation, open container, stop sign violation and seat belt violation.

• An auto was vandalized.

• A wedding band was reported lost..

• A 60-year-old man with head injuries was flown from Pipe Creek.

• Rangers warned a party for unauthorized campfire.

Monday, Nov. 1

• Rangers assisted the Tusayan Fire Department with a medical dispatch to Grand Canyon Airlines for a 50-year-old woman who lost consciousness.

• A 35-year-old woman with abdominal pain was flown from Phantom Ranch.

Tuesday, Nov. 2

• A 74-year-old woman was treated for a head laceration and a 26-year-old man was treated for a panic attack.

• Rangers gave a warning for an expired IBP.

Wednesday, Nov 3

• An adult was treated for a finger laceration.

• Mona Lisa Youyetewa was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Coconino County.

• Rangers gave warnings for going the wrong way on a one-way street, unsafe operation, no proof of insurance, drivers license violations and a registration violation.

• Rangers assisted the Tusayan Fire Department with a medical dispatch to the Grand Hotel..

• A hiker was cited for being off-itinerary at Hermit Camp and another was warned at Phantom Ranch.

• Rangers treated an adult hiker for “canyon toe.”

Thursday, Nov. 4

• Rangers treated a 40-year-old man with a seizure, a man who lost consciousness, a 52-year-old man with a head laceration and a 21-year-old man with burning eyes.

• Philomena Nez was arrested for DUI and cited for DUI, breath alcohol content over .08, and failure to maintain control of vehicle.

• An auto vs tree accident was reported.

Friday, Nov. 5

• Rangers warned drivers for vehicle equipment violations, failure to maintain lane, going the wrong way on a one-way street and speeding.

• Rangers gave four warnings for audio disturbances, three for minor in possession of alcohol and one for gift of alcohol to a minor.

• Kathleen Clayton was arrested for DUI and cited for DUI, breath alcohol content over .08, speeding, a vehicle registration violation and having no proof of insurance.

• Occupants were injured in a vehicle rollover. Rangers took c-spine precautions for a 26-year-old man and notified Coconino County officials that a patient had an outstanding warrent.

• Peter Furcap was cited for being under the influence of alcohol.
