During the period of Oct. 9-15, U.S. Park Rangers at Grand Canyon National Park responded to the following incidents:

Saturday, Oct. 9

• Rangers assisted the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office with a report of an assault at Moqui Lodge.

• Barking dogs were reported.

• Rangers delivered an emergency message to a visitor.

• A driver was warned for speeding and one was warned for off-road travel.

• Two drivers were cited for speeding.

• Rangers provided aid for a 31-year-old woman with a medication reaction and a 40-year-old woman suffering shortness of breath.

• Rangers gave a warning for collecting animal remains.

• A trespasser received a warning.

• Two people were cited for off-road travel.

• Three drivers were cited for having no proof of insurance, and one of those was also cited for a vehicle registration violation. Also, a woman was cited for false license plate and expired license plate.

• An auto vs auto accident was reported.

• North Rim rangers assisted a visitor with a vehicle lock-out.

• A 38-year-old woman was treated for fainting.

• Phantom Ranch rangers treated a 66-year-old man for abrasions.

• A 58-year-old woman was evacuated from the Canyon with an arm fracture.

• A camper at Hermit Creek was cited for a permit violation.

• Rangers assisted a rim to rim hiker at Indian Garden and a hiker at Two-Mile Corner on the Bright Angel Trail.

Sunday, Oct. 10

• Rangers assisted Coconino County officials with an unattended campfire in Tusayan.

• A driver was warned for a stop sign violation and another was cited for speeding.

• A woman was cited for off-road travel.

• Rangers assisted a visitor with a disabled vehicle.

• Rangers assisted a hiker to walk out of the Canyon on the upper North Kaibab Trail.

• An overdue hiker was located.

• A camper was cited for a permit violation.

Monday, Oct. 11

• Rangers treated a 42-year-old woman for a head injury.

• A driver was warned for a stop sign violation.

• A driver was cited for off-road travel and another was cited for speeding.

• Rangers assisted the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office with a domestic suspect.

• A driver was cited for a mandatory insurance suspension.

• Rangers treated a 10-year-old boy for a nosebleed.

• Cottonwood rangers treated a 69-year-old man with a knee injury.

• A 69-year-old man with an ankle injury was flown from the North Kaibab Trail below Supai Tunnel.

• A 38-year-old woman and a 53-year-old woman with head injuries were flown from Colorado River mile 103.

Tuesday, Oct. 12

• Rangers gave two warnings for speeding and one for a stop sign violation. Three drivers were cited for speeding and one was cited for off-road travel.

• A 41-year-old woman was treated for a nosebleed and a 66-year-old woman was treated for shortness of breath.

• North Rim rangers treated a 45-year-old woman who fainted.

• A welfare check was made on a North Rim visitor.

• An emergency message was delivered to Phantom Ranch.

Wednesday, Oct. 13

• A woman was cited for off-road travel.

• A woman was cited for a sanitation violation.

• A man was cited for a drivers license violation.

• Rangers treated a 68-year-old man for general illness and a 61-year-old man for general hip pain.

• A driver was cited for a stop sign violation and two were cited for speeding.

• Two accidents were reported – one vs a stationary object and one vs a deer.

• A driver was warned for a vehicle equipment violation.

• Rangers assisted a separated party and in a vehicle lock-out.

• A North Rim driver struck a deer.

Thursday, Oct. 14

• A driver was cited for speeding and a stop sign violation.

• An RV vs tree accident was reported, as were a hit and run auto vs auto and auto vs auto.

• Clifford Yazzie was cited for driving on a suspended license.

• Rangers assisted Tusayan Fire Department with a medical dispatch to Papillon for an adult with chest pain. They also assisted a 48-year-old man with seizures at AirStar.

• A 68-year-old man was treated for chest pain, a 65-year-old man was treated for back pain, a man was treated for general illness and a 31-year-old woman was treated for diabetic issues.

• Rangers assisted Poison Control with a 26-year-old woman who overdosed at an unknown location outside the park.

• Rangers gave a verbal warning for a vehicle equipment violation.

• A necklace was reported lost to North Rim rangers.

• Rangers conducted a welfare check of a North Rim visitor.

• A 36-year-old woman with a leg injury was flown from Phantom Ranch.

Friday, Oct. 15

• A man was cited for a seatbelt violation.

• Rangers treated a 6-year-old girl with asthma, a 41-year-old woman with a nosebleed and a 29-year-old man with bronchitis.

• Rangers conducted a welfare check on a visitor.

• Rangers warned a driver for speeding, two for stop sign violations, two for vehicle equipment violations, one for off-road travel and one for a drivers license violation.

• Two accidents were reported – a mule vs parked auto, and an auto vs auto.

• Rangers assisted the Coconinio County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a suspicious item found outside the park.

• An adult hiker in the Canyon was treated for migraine.

• A 54-year-old woman with a knee injury was flown from Phantom Ranch.

• Rangers assisted a hiker with flashlights on the Bright Angel Trail.
