Following is a rundown of events from the Grand Canyon, Tusayan and Valle area

Wednesday, Feb. 23

7-8 p.m. — Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at Kachina Lodge, Kachina room.

6:30 p.m. —Annual Science Fair, Grand Canyon School gym. Awards announced at 7 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 24

11:30 a.m. -12 p.m. – Story Time for ages 3-5, Grand Canyon Community Library.

5:30-7:30p.m. – PTA Family Game Night, Grand Canyon School multi-purpose room. All parents and their children are invited. Hot dogs and other food items available.

6 p.m. – Meeting to discuss the newly-drafted Community Wildfire Protection Plan, Grand Canyon Squire Inn.

6 p.m. – Community Bingo Night at the Grand Canyon Rec Center. Play for prizes. Drinks and snacks provided.

Friday, Feb. 25

6 p.m. – Movie Night at Grand Canyon Rec Center, featuring “Napoleon Dynamite” (PG) with Jon Heder. Free and open to the community.

7-8 p.m. — Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at Kachina Lodge, Kachina room.

8:15-9:15 p.m. — Al-Anon Family Group meeting at Thunderbird Lodge, Kiva room.

Sunday, Feb. 26

6-9 p.m. – Open gym basketball, Grand Canyon School multi-purpose room, only ages 16 and above admitted.

Monday, Feb. 28

6:30 p.m. — Arts For Our Parks awards presentation and results of juried art show for students at Grand Canyon School, Shrine of the Ages Auditorium.

7-8 p.m. — Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at Kachina Lodge, Kachina room.

Tuesday, March 1

7-9 p.m. – Open gym volleyball, Grand Canyon School multi-purpose room, only ages 16 and above admitted.

7-9 p.m. — Opening reception for Arts For Our Parks exhibit at Kolb Studio, featuring 59 art pieces by Grand Canyon School students. Native American flutist David Wolf’s Robe performs.

Wednesday, March 2

7-8 p.m. — Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at Kachina Lodge, Kachina room.

Thursday, March 3

11:30 a.m.-12 p.m. – Story time for ages 3-5, Grand Canyon Community Library.

Friday, March 4

7-8 p.m. — Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at Kachina Lodge, Kachina room.

8:15-9:15 p.m. — Al-Anon Family Group meeting at Thunderbird Lodge, Kiva room.

Ongoing events

“Arts For Our Parks,” exhibit of more than 50 juried pieces created by Grand Canyon School students opens March 1 at Kolb Studio and runs through March 21.

Kolb Studio: Images of the Past, daily at 3:30 p.m. (by registration only). Tour the 100-year-old Kolb Studio on the Canyon rim behind Bright Angel Lodge and learn about lives and historical adventures of these Grand Canyon pioneers. Register at Kolb Studio or by calling 638-2771.

Glimpses of the Past, daily at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at Tusayan Museum at Desert View. Learn about the ancient people who called the Canyon home 800 years ago and explore a Puebloan ruin along a short paved trail.
