Charles Lamb Horning

Charles Lamb Horning, 86, of Grand Canyon, Ariz., passed away June 10, 2005.

He was born and raised in Quincy, Ill., and was a man of honesty, integrity, love and laughter.

He served our country proudly with the 101st Airborne Div. in World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Edith Lenore Horning of Phoenix, Ariz.; sons James Carl Horning of Grand Canyon, Ariz., Michael George Horning of Santa Fe, N.M. and Patrick Nash Horning (Lisa Riedel) of Page, Ariz.; granddaughters Megan Marie and Judith Horning of Page, Ariz.; sisters Martha Baecker of Monroe City, Mo., Janice Courtney and Betty Bowen of Phoenix and Joy Callahan of Palatine, Il.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents Opal and George Horning of Quncy, Ill.

Visitation is Wednesday, June 15, 2005, from noon-2 p.m. with a funeral service at 2 p.m. at Whitney and Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 Indian School Road, Phoenix. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2004, at Grand Canyon National Park Cemetery, Grand Canyon.
