Salvation Army needs bell ringers

Volunteer bell "ringers" are needed to collect donations on behalf of the Salvation Army on the weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Volunteers serve two-hour shifts outside the General Store with the red kettle and a silent bell.

Proceeds go to the Salvation Army's emergency fund, which helps people in need year round. According to Dan Tobin, who oversees the granting of funds, the bell ringing raised enough to help people all year with things like food, groceries, medication, fuel and more.

To volunteer or for more information, contact Tobin at 638-2271.
