Class thanks community
To the editor:
The sixth grade MYP class would like to thank all parents/guardians for allowing your children to donate canned food or boxed food for our Thanksgiving food drive.
To encourage students to bring in food, the Student Council arranged an ice cream party for the class which brought in the most items. The eighth graders won with a total of 171 items.
Mrs. Kelso's fourth grade class came up with a great idea, which was, if they won they would give back the ice cream money to help pay for more food to give to people.
In addition, we set out a box at the store for anyone to help participate and found two whole boxes full!
The whole school came up with 661 items all together, not counting the food that we got from the store and food that was left at the office.
We are especially proud of this because we managed to collect more than 661 items total in only 14 days.
We are very proud of everyone who helped to raise so much food. We are very thankful.
