Deadline tomorrow for lower AYSO fees

Online registration for this summer's American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) league has begun. Now through April 14, the fees for registering on-line are $45 for the first child in the family and $40 for each additional child.

There is a $2 discount for the first child if signed registration forms and fees are postmarked by April 12. After April 15 the late registration fee is $50 for every player. Registration deadline for the 2007 season is June 1.

Registering online is easy. Just go to and follow the steps. With this year's online registration system you no longer need an access code to sign your child up. The completed registration form must be printed out, signed by a parent or guardian, and mailed to AYSO, P.O. Box 307, Flagstaff, Ariz., 86002. Registration is not complete until the fees are paid and the signed waiver form is received by the Flagstaff office.

AYSO is open to all children from 5-18 years of age who want to play soccer. There are two different play schedules one for players in the U16-U19 (age 14 -18) league and another for those children under 14 years of age.

U16-U19 begins practice the week of May 14, with games June 2 through Aug. 4. The season starts early this year for the younger divisions with practice starting the week of June 11. Games will be played from June 23 through Aug. 26. All games are played on Saturdays. If you'd like more information or would be interested in volunteering, please contact Nora Berry at 638-2794, or Jon Streit at 638-6485.
