Halloween carnival this Friday

The year's spookiest season kicks off in earnest this Friday with the Grand Canyon High School Student Council's annual Halloween Carnival. It will be from 6-9 p.m. in the school multi-purpose room. Please bring your family and have a spooky good time, with haunted houses, jails and cakewalks, oh my!

There will also be live fish to be won, face painting, a "marriage" booth and lots of food to buy. Please come and have a great time and support your school.

The Grand Canyon clinic hosts its annual Halloween Open House on Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 2-6 p.m. There will be games, trick-or-treats and a piñata at 6 p.m. Come any time.

There will be a Halloween party for kids on Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 6-9 p.m., at the Grand Hotel in Tusayan. Along with a free costume contest and hot chocolate, there will be pumpkin carving for $1 and a 50-cent haunted house. There will also be $1 caramel apples and $4 Indian tacos for sale.

From 10 p.m.-1 a.m., they also host a 21-and-over Halloween party with DJ and dancing and costume contest. Admission is $3 per person, $5 per couple.

The Rec Center hosts two Halloween-themed movies, with free lemonade and candy, on Wednesday, Oct. 31. The classic "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" starts at 7:30 p.m. and at 9 p.m., they will show the R-rated "The Host."
