Elementary students not only got to snuggle up with some good books last week - when they left school for the Thanksgiving break, they were able to take them home to keep.

Young readers in grades kindergarten-fifth grade were able to select a book, then find a cozy spot to put down a pillow and blanket and read it. Grand Canyon PTA donated $300 toward purchasing the books.

Snuggle Up With A Good Book also kicked off the Elementary Book Exchange, which will provide students the opportunity to trade out books they're not reading for new ones. Residents are also invited to donate books.

According to kindergarten teacher Cyndi Moreno, the exchange cart doesn't replace the library. The goal is to get more books to stu-dents to encourage them to read more.
