Middle School Phantoms near season's end
The Grand Canyon Middle School Phantoms won all three of their games on Saturday.
They beat SFPA 30-16, with Ethan Berry scoring 10, Luke Streit with 8, Joey Bankston and Jacob Harner with 4 each, Malcom Sumerall and Israel Fellows with 2 apiece.
The B Team pulled out a close win against Seligman, 22-16. Bankston scored 12, Berry netted 4 and Alex Thompson and Fellows contributed 2 each.
The A Team's game ended in a 42-11 rout for the Phantoms, with Streit, Sumerall and Jacob Pieper scoring 10 each, Berry chipping in 6, Harner adding 4 and Fellows with 2.
The middle school Phantoms have the weekend off. Their season ends with tournaments on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 20 and 21. The B Team plays in Seligman on Friday and are expected to be top seed. The A Team plays in Williams on Saturday and are tied for second place.
