Travel restrictions lifted on Tusayan Ranger District

TUSAYAN, Ariz. - Due to drier and safer conditions, forest managers recently lifted all motor vehicle travel restrictions on the Tusayan Ranger District of the Kaibab National Forest. The road closures, which largely affect the area east of state Highway 64, were implemented due to wet, muddy and hazardous conditions that created public safety and resource damage concerns.

Motorists are cautioned to avoid any remaining patches of snow, ice and mud. Contact the district office at (928) 638-2443 for additional information.
