Grand Canyon Celebration of Art set to begin in September
Event to be held at Kolb Studio in Grand Canyon National Park
GRAND CANYON, Ariz. - The Grand Canyon Association is pleased to announce the second Annual Grand Canyon Celebration of Art on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. This event provides a unique opportunity for visitors to see and purchase the works of some of the best artists in the nation as they seek to capture the beauty of this timeless landscape on canvas.
The Grand Canyon Celebration of Art features thirty artists from around the country in a Plein Air on the Rim competition, quick draw and auction, exhibit, and sale.
Proceeds will support the goal of funding a permanent art venue on the South Rim that will preserve and showcase the spectacular collection of historic and contemporary paintings owned by Grand Canyon National Park and the Grand Canyon Association. Creating a permanent art venue at the South Rim will help ensure that future generations of park visitors will be able to experience Grand Canyon art at its finest.
The event is scheduled to begin Sept. 11, culminating with an awards ceremony Sept. 18. An exhibition and sale will be held until Nov. 28.
