Guest column: Happy Thanksgiving to Tusayan and Grand Canyon residents and visitors

Just like the seasons, your Tusayan Town Council is now moving on to its next list of items of work in setting up the town's foundation. Most new communities do not immediately face the type of large development opportunities that we were presented so early in our life. It has forced some rapid learning, as well as awareness of many things that still need to be addressed in building our foundation as a town. We will continue working on town codes, a new general area plan, zoning documents and many others that we need to be reviewing and restating as we look to the future. If the actions that the town council took in re-zoning Camper Village, Kotzin Ranch and Ten X Ranch are not referred for a vote, we could have some new homes on Camper Village by Christmas and begin the process of independent housing and home ownership. We hope residents see the value and need of these things happening soon.
