Esther Loveless

Esther Loveless, 92, arrived the year American women got the vote - 1919. On Wednesday, October 5, 2011, she joined parents Steven and Mary Kacvinsky, her nine wonderful brothers and sisters and beloved husband Ted Loveless.

From northern Wisconsin she left for Chicago and a varied career in the hospitality industry. A solo trip on the Super Chief in 1946 took her to the Grand Canyon as a Harvey Girl, working at El Tovar and Bright Angel lodges. In Phoenix, she met Ted Loveless at the Adams Hotel entering a new adventure with her marriage and family in the Valley of the Sun, making more friends at the San Carlos, the Kiva Club and the Townehouse Hotels.

Her pals at the Eastern Star/AZ Grand Community and Devonshire Senior Center will greatly miss her, as does her loving family: daughters Mary (Mia) Graf (Chuck), Stephanie Wolz (Karl), grandson Andrew Theodore Wolz (Heather) and great-grandbaby Micah Parker Wolz; Esther snuggled him tight and had four generations together for too short a time. Many nieces, nephews and a dear sister-in-law, Eva, also survive her.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Oct. 13 at 1:30 p.m., at St. Theresa's Parish, 5045 E. Thomas Rd., Phoenix, with private interment. A memorial at AzGSC will take place at a later date. St. Mary's Food Bank was her favorite organization: Tributes, 2831 N. 31st Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85009. Esther knew that red lipstick, pearls, faith and kindness take you a long way in life.
