Spring into Easter at Grand Canyon School Saturday
Egg hunt starts at 10 a.m.
GRAND CANYON, Ariz. - No matter what the weather is like, this year's Rotary of the Rim Easter Egg Hunt is expected to be a big hit for children in the area. The event will begin at 10 a.m. on April 7 on the fields outside of Grand Canyon School. The annual Rotary Easter Egg Hunt, organized by Rotarian Clarinda Vail, is for ages preschool through fifth grade.
Parents need to make sure their children are out on the school's field just before 10 a.m. with their own baskets.
First, second, and third place prizes for five age groups and one grand prize valued at $100 will be found on the Grand Canyon School fields.
Rotary spring community grants
Members of the Grand Canyon Rotary Club are offering $1,500 in spring community grants, Grants are awarded to non-profit organizations for programs and projects that benefit the local community. In the past, Rotary on the Rim has helped Cub Scouts, Math Parent Nights, School of Rock and Kaibab Learning Center with fall community grants. This year's spring recipients will be announced at the annual Sunset Supper to be held on June 9 at Moqui.
Applying for a community grant only requires taking a few minutes and writing a letter to Rotary describing your need and how this money will help. Be sure to include the name of your organization and how many people you hope to help.
Grant requests can be sent to the Community Grants Committee at P.O. Box 696, Grand Canyon, Ariz. 86023.
