The Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth honors Jeanne Yost

Kaibab Learning Center Director receives acknowledgement March 28 for service to early childhood education

GRAND CANYON, Ariz. - The Kaibab Learning Center (KLC) recently announced that Jeanne Yost, director of Kaibab Learning Center, is one of this year's recipients of the Caring For Children Award from the Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth (CCC&Y). This award recognizes outstanding individuals who make the world a better place for community children. CCC&Y honored Yost and other award recipients at a luncheon banquet at the Elks Lodge in Flagstaff on March 28. The group recognized Yost for her patience, caring, commitment and dedication to early childhood education.

"She is to be commended for opening the doors of Kaibab Learning Center each morning with a smile, tirelessly working in the classroom with kids and teachers, and performing all of the necessary administrative tasks that allow us to continue to provide low-cost quality early childhood education for children in the Grand Canyon area," CCC&Y officials said.

KLC is a non-profit organization founded in 2001 to provide quality daycare, preschool, and after school programs within a Montessori-inspired learning environment for children birth to age 12. It is the only licensed daycare facility in 50 miles and serves the families of Grand Canyon and neighboring communities, including Tusayan and Valle.

The CCC&Y was founded in 1994 to provide leadership in developing community-wide strategies that improve the children's well being in Coconino County.
