Obituary: David Alan Trenchard
David Alan Trenchard, 55, of Grand Canyon, Ariz. passed away June 19, 2013. He was born October 5, 1957 in Flint, Mich. to Byron and Ruth Trenchard. He was a high school track star and graduated from Lake Fenton High School in 1976. He worked at Yosemite, Yellowstone and Grand Canyon National Parks and as an IT manager for Delaware North Co., where he also served as environmental and safety manager. David loved golf and water skiing. He served as a volunteer firefighter.
David is survived by his wife, Josie, his children Michael and Daniel, his father Byron, and two brothers Barry (Robin) Trenchard and Gary (Donna)Trenchard.. His mother, Ruth Trenchard, preceded him in death in 2005.
Funeral services were Tuesday, June 25, at 1 p.m. at the Shrine of the Ages at Grand Canyon National Park with a burial at the park cemetery. A memorial service will take place at a later date in Fenton, Mich. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Grand Canyon Lions Club, P.O. Box 515, Grand Canyon, Ariz. 86023; Grand Canyon Schools, P.O. Box 519, Grand Canyon Ariz., 86023; or El Cristo Rey Catholic Chapel, 44 Albright Ave., Grand Canyon Village, Ariz. 86023.
