Grand Canyon Association changes name of seven stores
GRAND CANYON, Ariz. - Grand Canyon Association (GCA) is changing the name of seven stores within and around Grand Canyon National Park to Grand Canyon Association Park Stores.
Previously, the GCA named each store according to its location. GCA Park Stores sell products and interpretive and educational items about the Grand Canyon region. Money raised from purchases made at GCA Parks Store go to support Grand Canyon National Park. The name change reflects a trend among National Park friends groups to remind the public of the affiliation with their park and to help differentiate from other concessionaires within the park.
Grand Canyon Association Park stores can be found at the following locations: Kolb Studio, Verkamp's Visitor Center, Yavapai Geology Museum, Visitor Center Plaza, Tusayan Museum, Desert View Visitor Center, North Rim Visitor Center and Kaibab Plateau Visitor Center.
GCA is installing new signage at the Visitor Center Plaza location, formerly known as "Books and More." Over time, the GCA will bring additional signage into other stores. Park guests will have a better opportunity to identify areas where they can make a difference with their purchase.
