Luke Streit

Canyon resident: 16 years. School activities and sports: Soccer, basketball, track, NHS and student council. Future plans: I'm going to NAU to study Parks and Recreation Management. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: I will miss my mom and dad, Ethan, Justin, Loren, Joey, Jared, Trevor and Jaru. Thanks to: My teachers, family and friends. Awards and scholarships: American Legion Scholarship, Booster Club Heath Gibbon Scholarship, Grand Canyon Scholar, National Honor Society, Xanterra Scholarship, GC Community Recreation Hermits Marathon Scholarship and Paco Hunter Scholarship.

Cori Yazzie

Canyon resident: For eight years. I came here when I was in fifth grade. School activities and sports: Basketball and volleyball for four years, track for one year, National Honor Society's treasurer and student council treasurer. Future plans: I'm going to go to school at ASU for nursing. Eventually, I hope to become a Navy nurse. Who, what will I miss the most after graduation: I will definitely miss my family and friends. I'll miss being able to see the Canyon whenever I want. I'm lucky to have such a beautiful home with such great people. Thanks to: I want to thank the Grand Canyon community for supporting our entire senior class. I want to also thank my teachers, especially Mrs. Brown for always pushing me to do my best. Of course my best friend, Katreena Haswood, for always being with me every step of the way and for making me laugh. You've always been such a great friend, 143. Most importantly, I want to thank my sister, Chelsea, my mom, Carol, and my stepdad, Elliot. None of this would have been possible without you. I love you guys. Canyon resident: 13 years. School activities and sports: Kitchen assistant to Matt Yost. Future plans: Auto mechanic school. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: Family. Thanks to: My mother and Julian Beery. Awards and scholarships: Culinary Above and Beyond Award.

Alkhemiya Redmond

Canyon resident: 18 years. School activities and sports: Band and School of Rock singer. Future plans: Dental hygienist. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: I'll miss my friends and the crazy adventures. Thanks to: My family and peers for making me who I am today. Awards and scholarships: Band Director's Award.

Laura Rojas

Canyon resident: I've been a canyon resident for my whole senior year. School activities and sports: I was vice president during my freshman year. I participated in a contest to support my school during my sophomore year. Future plans: I'll attend a university in Mexico and try to get the best out of life. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: I will miss my friends, my work and the Grand Canyon. Thanks to: My family, especially my mother and father. I'm really proud of them for aways encouraging me. My co-workers because they all became like a part of my family. Awards and scholarships: National Honor Society during my junior year. Top student during my freshman year and top three during my sophomore and junior years.

Kristen Forsythe

Canyon resident: 13 years. School activities and sports: Basketball for two years, soccer for one year and track for one year. Future plans: Going to Chandler Gilbert Community College. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: I will miss the atmosphere of the school. Thanks to: My family. Katreena Haswood

Canyon resident: I have been a Grand Canyon resident for 18 years. School activities and sports: I have played basketball for four years, soccer for three, volleyball for one year and track for two years. Future plans: I plan on attending Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo., majoring in education and I hope to teach history and psychology. I want to teach on the Navajo Reservation for a few years and then move to Alaska. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: I will mostly miss my family and friends.,the school and the teachers. I will miss Grand Canyon itself. It'll always be my home. I will miss being in a community where everyone cares about each other and cares for the environment. Thanks to: My mom, Linda and my dad, Pat. Thanks for everything you have provided me with. I love you. Also, thanks to my sister Lindsay and my brother Xavier for your love and support. My cousin Jared for pushing me to do better in school, sports and life itself. Thanks to all the teachers for all your support. Thanks to Mrs. Brown for boosting my confidence. She helped me realize anything can happen as long as you try your hardest. Canyon resident: I have lived at the Canyon for 17 years. School activities and sports: Basketball for four years, volleyball for three years, track and field for three years, student council for three years and National Honor Society for two years. Future plans: Attend the CCC2NAU program. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: My teachers, playing sports and being able to see my close friends every day. Thanks to: My family and friends, especially my father for being brave enough to raise three girls on his own. Awards and scholarships: Female Athlete of the Year, Debbie Clancy Award, Heath E. Gibbons Memorial Scholarship, Scholarships from: Rotary, Xanterra, Sanitary District, Horace M. Albright, Hermit Marathon, Native American Education Committee.

Molly Struble

Canyon resident: For nine years. School activities and sports: GCHS Student Council for four years, GCHS National Honor Society for three years, National Society of High School Scholars, basketball for one year, Grand Canyon Recreation Center Student Board member. Future plans: I plan to attend the University of Delaware to study marine science. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: I will miss my family and friends that I leave behind in Arizona and the Grand Canyon community. Thanks to: My mother Jeri, for always being my support system. I wouldn't be the person I am today without you; my father, Craig, for his support and love; my brother, Bryan, for being a role model and always looking out for me; all my teachers that helped me achieve a higher education; all my friends that are always there for me when I need them. Natasha Lacapa

Canyon resident: Been here for my whole school career. School activities and sports: Helped out the volleyball team. Future plans: To attend the Art Institute of Phoenix and major in Culinary Arts. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: I will miss this place being very quiet and having the opportunity to know almost everyone in the community. Thanks to: My mother and father, my grandma and all the teachers who have taught me throughout the years. Ricardo McCrary

Canyon resident: I've been here for five years. School activities and sports: Varsity soccer, basketball and varsity track and field for four years; Boy Scouts for five years (obtained Eagle Scout). Future plans: My plans are to complete a bachelor's degree in chemistry at NAU with a minor in culinary arts or economics. I also plan on serving my country, either for the Air Force or Army. I also hope to have a wife and kids and make a contribution to society. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: I will miss my friends and playing soccer. Thanks to: My mom and my grandma for helping me through life and helping me overcome obstacles; my teachers who helped influence my choice in a college major; my friends who would make me smile; my coaches who encouraged me when there was pressure in the game. Awards and scholarships: Eagle Scout, Boys State representative, Lions Club and Booster Club scholarships.

Starlivia Kaska

Canyon resident: 18 years. School activities and sports: High School Art Honor Society, Chemawa cheerleading co-captain, Chemawa Indian School peer tutor and part of leadership group. Future plans: Attend University of Arizona and attain a degree in electrial engineering. Who, what will I miss the most after graduation: The easiness of high school work, the cool environment of Grand Canyon vs. Tucson. Thanks to: All of my teachers from K-12, especially Brad Houston for sparking my interests in engineering and technology back in ninth and tenth grade, and for being a great teacher. Awards and scholarships: Native American Education and Havasupai Promise Scholarship.

Heather Torivio

Canyon resident: 15 years. School activities and sports: National Art Honor Society, student council student representative, volleyball for four years, played basketball for one year and managed basketball for two years. Future plans: Become a certified nurse. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: I'll miss the art room. Going into the art room is like freedom in school. You are free to do what you want, like making tea, cocoa, or just having a good time. It was like a working freedom (where you work, but have your freedom). Thanks to: Thanks to Mr. Waugh for helping on my writing skills and meaning business. Thanks to Mrs. Brown for going out of her way to help me. Thanks to Ms. McBroom for showing me how to do my work and helping me see from different perspectives. Carlos Garcia

Canyon resident: 17 years. School activities and sports: Student Council, class officer, yearbook editor. Future plans: Attend NAU and study business administration. After completing the needed courses, I would like to start my own business and give back to my community. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: My teachers, friends and our small community. Thanks to: My parents and teachers who helped me get to where I am today. Without their help, I wouldn't be where I am today. Thanks Mrs. Brown, you rock! Malcom Sumerall

Canyon resident: Seven years. School activities and sports: Basketball, track and field. Future plans: Going to CCC and doing the CCC2NAU program. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: The school and my friends. Thanks to: Mr. Houston and Ms. Bailey. Awards and scholarships: Calculus "Need I Say More" Award and Excellence in Chemistry Award.

Darren Ray

Canyon resident: 18 years. Future plans: Major in comic art. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: I will miss having an art class. Thanks to: Mr. Houston, Mrs. McBroom and my mom and dad. Awards and scholarships: Excellence in Finance.

Kayley Brooke

Wadsworth Canyon resident: 18 years, my entire life. School activities and sports: Volleyball, four years; basketball, one year; basketball manager, one year; National Art Honor Society and Student Council. Future plans: I'm going to NAU and majoring in hotel/restaurant management. I also want to get a cosmetology certificate. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: I'm going to miss my family the most. Especially Makiah and Caius. Thanks to: My mom and dad for believing in me and supporting my decisions; my aunt Rita for always being there when I needed her; my brother Ryne for being the most amazing brother and giving me so much support and Ashley, for pushing me to do more and believing in all my accomplishments. Frida Ramos de la Torre

Canyon resident: Since I was born. School activities and sports: Volleyball, Odyssey of the Mind. Future plans: Go to NAU and study criminal justice. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: Playing volleyball, my friends and classes. Thanks to: My parents for always helping me and supporting me in every decision I make and my teachers. Awards and scholarships: Lumberjack Scholar, Grand Canyon Scholar, Grand Canyon Booster Club Scholar and Thurston Memorial Scholarship.

Gabriel Pereira Haas

Canyon resident: One year. School activities and sports: Soccer and basketball. Future plans: To go back to my home country, Brazil, and continue my life, remembering my experiences at the Grand Canyon. Who, what I will miss the most after graduation: The American culture, food (especially fried chicken) and all the people that I met at the Grand Canyon. Thanks to: Rotary, my host families, the Morenos and Vails, my friends, the school and my family in Brazil. Awards and scholarships: Excellence in Economics.
