Grand Canyon School submits more than 13,000 Boxtop labels

To the editor,

Thank you for making this year's Boxtops for Education and Labels for Education submissions a success. On Oct. 31, the seventh and eighth grade classes counted and sorted over 13,000 labels. The total amount submitted was 13,412, which equates to $1,342.10. General Mills will mail Grand Canyon Schools our check sometime in December. In addition, we sent in 1,224 points in the Labels for Education program. These points are accumulating in our account and will be used to order supplies for our school.

I also wanted to thank Janet Rosner from the IMAX for saving and contributing at least 600 of those labels. And, a big thanks to Katherine Zuniga in Ms. Kelso's class for bringing in all those labels. Her class received class sets of "The Great Kapok Tree" and "Riding Freedom" for their science and language arts classes. Ms. Evenson's class received a set of "The Magic School Bus" for their class.

Thanks again everyone for all your support. Keep saving those labels. Next submission date is in April so I will keep you posted. Drop off your labels at Grand Canyon School or the following businesses: Kaibab Learning Center, Grand Canyon Recreation Center, Delaware North and Xanterra Human Resource office. For more information please check out their websites at www.boxtops4education.com and www.labelsforeducation.com.
