Rotary Dinner Dance tickets now available
GRAND CANYON, Ariz.- On Dec. 7, the Grand Canyon Rotary Club's will put on its annual Holiday Dinner Dance at the El Tovar Hotel and tickets are now available. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Organizers are fashioning the evening of dinner, dancing and raffles after Currier and Ives famous Americana Christmas scenes.
"An old-fashioned Christmas is what we're going for," Rotarian Julie Aldaz said. "And we'll also be doing an award for the best costume."
This year Rotary is selling raffle tickets for cash prizes ranging from $100 to $5,000. The tickets are $20 each and can be purchased from any Rotarian. Only 1,000 tickets are available for purchase.
This annual event is a major fundraising effort for Grand Canyon's Rotary on the Rim. Proceeds go toward local community grants, service projects and scholarships for students pursuing post-secondary learning.
Dinner tickets are $50 each. Organizers are still planning the musical entertainment.
Not only does Rotary host the holiday dinner dance, the service club also organizes community cleanups, an Easter egg hunt, a chili cook-off, community grants, scholarships, community member of the year award.
