TUSAYAN, Ariz. - Kaibab National Forest is selling Christmas tree tags, over-the-counter, for each of its three ranger districts.

The tags are sold on a first-come, first-served basis until they are gone. The permits allow the holder to cut a tree, of a particular species, within a designated area on the Kaibab National Forest until Dec. 24.

Tags are $15 per tree and are non-refundable, even if weather conditions prevent access to cutting areas.

Customers will be provided a map showing the designated cutting areas along with additional Christmas tree cutting instructions.

The number of available tags and contact information for each ranger district is as follows:

North Kaibab Ranger District has 800 permits available. The office is located at 430 S. Main Street Fredonia, Arizona and is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

The office will also be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the following select weekend days: Nov. 29, Dec. 6 and Dec. 13. More information is available at (928) 643-7395.

Tusayan Ranger District has 500 permits available. The office is located at 176 Lincoln Log Loop, Tusayan, Arizona and is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

The Williams Ranger District office will also have 100 tags available for the Tusayan Ranger District. More information is available at (928) 638-2443.

Williams Ranger District has 200 permits available. The office is located at 742 S. Clover Road Williams, Arizona and is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. More information is available at (928) 635-5600.
