Students take Thanksgiving festivities to new levels at Grand Canyon School
GRAND CANYON, Ariz. -Kindergarten through eighth grade students enjoyed friendly competitions against their peers in several races during the Turkey Trot Nov. 24. Followed by a Turkey Feast prepared and served by the culinary art class and student council members.
Grand Canyon Law Enforcement Rangers provided encouragement for runners during the event and helped serve at the feast.
Turkey trot participants ran quarter mile, half mile and one mile races based on their grade. Prizes were awarded to first, second and third place and participation ribbons were given to all students. Parents were invited to cheer on their students during the Turkey Trot and partake in the holiday meal.
