GRAND CANYON, Ariz. - Grand Canyon National Park Rangers intervened in a possible suicide attempt by an Ohio man, on May 11. A case that turned out to be more than it appeared.

According to the New York Daily News, Paul Strebler, 33, a district manager for Romeo's Pizza in Twinsburg, Ohio is accused of using a secret camera to film around 15 women in the bathroom of the restaurant.

Ohio authorities said the women included employees and former employees. Investigators identified a 20-year-old and a 17-year-old employee from the videos and are working to find other victims, the New York Daily News reported.

According to Kirby-Lynn Shedlowski, Grand Canyon National Park public affairs officer, the Grand Canyon Regional Communications Center received a call on May 11 from the Tallmadge, Ohio Police Department reporting a missing man believed to be at the Grand Canyon and suicidal.

"We received a report of a missing person from an Ohio police department," Shedlowski said. "We went in search for that individual and were able to locate them. We were able to then transport them to Flag Medical Center."

Rangers located Strebler after finding his vehicle at the Bright Angel Lodge on the South Rim. Strebler was traced to the Abyss, a portion of the Canyon on West Rim/Hermit's Rest Drive where Strebler was standing at the edge of the Canyon. Over the course of three-hours rangers safely moved Strebler away from the rim.

The park said they were able to locate Strebler based on information provided by investigators in Ohio.

"We received a report of a missing person who was possibly suicidal," Shedlowski said. "Our job is to respond to that report and deal with it from there and then it goes back to a different jurisdiction."

According to New York Daily News, Strebler was transported to the Flagstaff Area Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation and will be transported back to Ohio.

The National Park Service and the Tallmadge Police Department are conducting an investigation into the incident.
