Grand Canyon ranger log: July 2 to 8
Grand Canyon Park Rangers responded to the following incidents between July 2 and July 8. All incidents are on the South Rim unless otherwise indicated -
Law Enforcement
A driver was cited for having unrestrained children in a vehicle.
An individual was cited after he was caught flying an unmanned drone over the Canyon.
A driver was stopped for speeding and arrested on a warrant.
An individual was arrested on the North Rim for disorderly conduct and being under the influence of alcohol.
Rangers are investigating a bus striking a retaining wall causing significant damage to the wall. No injuries were reported.
An individual was cited for passing in a no passing zone.
An individual was cited for driving with a suspended license and expired registration. The vehicle was impounded.
An individual was stopped for driving without a license plate light. The driver was tested and arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
An individual was cited for not properly storing food.
Rangers took a report of a minor motor vehicle accident.
An individual was cited for having unrestrained children in a vehicle.
An individual was stopped for failure to obey a traffic control device. The driver was tested and arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Rangers are investigating keys that were stolen from a motor vehicle.
Rangers are investigating a motor vehicle accident after a bus struck a deer.
A driver was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign.
A driver was stopped for equipment failure. Rangers cited the individual for possession of a controlled substance and open container of alcohol.
Rangers assisted Coconino County Deputies and Tusayan Fire Department with a UTV rollover. A rider was pinned under the UTV, she was freed and flown to Flagstaff Medical Center.
An individual was cited for being a minor in possession of alcohol.
A driver was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign.
An individual was given mandatory appearance citations for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and unsafe operations.
Two individuals were cited for having a pet in the inner Canyon.
An individual was given a citation for shoplifting after he stole T-shirts.
An individual was arrested for being under the influence of alcohol after he was contacted because of threats he was making.
A driver was cited for unsafe operation of a motor vehicle.
Rangers assisted Coconino County Deputies with a person attempting suicide. The suicidal individual was contacted and taken to seek medical attention by ambulance.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
South Rim EMS transported an individual to Flagstaff Medical Center (FMC) after a severe asthma attack.
South Rim EMS transported an individual to FMC after they had difficulty breathing.
South Rim EMS transported an individual to the clinic after severe vomiting.
South Rim EMS transported an infant having seizures to FMC.
South Rim EMS transported an individual to FMC after a ground level fall.
Search and Rescue
An individual was flown from Roaring Springs to FMC with diabetic complications.
An individual was flown from Cottonwood to the clinic with fatigue and chest pain.
An individual was flown from River Mile 168 to FMC with injuries from a fall.
An individual was flown from River Mile 144 to the clinic with a lacerated finger.
An individual was flown from Indian Garden to the clinic with vomiting.
An individual was flown from Indian Garden to the clinic for general weakness.
